Happy Holidays

The TSO Cypress family did our Holiday Party Survival Games style.  A great time was had by all and it was a fantastic way for us to end a great year.  Team TSO Cypress is still a little sore, but we think team TSO Northwest Mall may be nursing more wounds than we are!

Happy Thanksgiving

UHCO Health Science Center Groundbreaking

Dr. Nguyen, pictured above along with 6 other TSO doctors, celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Health and Biomedical Sciences Center at the Univeristy of Houston this past Wednesday.  The Doctors of TSO are proud to have donated $1 million to the construction of the innovative new building.

The building represents a new milestone in education for the University of Houston College of Optometry. It will include an “ambulatory surgery center – the first of its kind in an optometry school,” says the university’s press release. “Its two components will include a place for outpatient ophthalmic procedures like cataract surgery and another for laser-refractive surgery, better known as LASIK.”

"The center will bring together several scientific departments across the university. Neuropsychology, neuroscience, measurement and statistics, biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, pharmacy, optometry, computer science and computational physiology will all collaborate at the new building."

Construction is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2012

Tom Davies studied Film and Television at the University of East Anglia before flying to China, aged 21, with his backpack to work for a startup eyewear factory.   Cutting his teeth on the factory floor, Tom helped build production from scratch whilst designing for other brands the world over.

Returning to London in 2000, Tom set up his couture business, creating spectacles and sunglasses for the Rich and Famous. Even at £5,000 a frame, Tom’s waiting list sometimes ran to 12 months.

Tom then decided to set up a Ready to Wear line, which was offered through top boutique opticians across the world.

In 2008, Tom opened his own factory and now offers a full bespoke service through his global network of exclusive opticians.
